Breakfast
Breakfast is served (for Hotel guests) in CC Floor (Convention Centre Floor) as follows: Monday – Friday: 06:00 – 10:30 and Saturday and Sunday: 06:00 – 10:30
CME Accreditation
CME has been approved by the Brazilian Medical Association, and the National Accreditation Committee (CNA) and has assigned 8 points for attending the 16 hours of the meeting.
Currency
The currency in Brazil is the Brazilian Real.
American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard and Visa are all widely accepted in shops and restaurants. ATMs are also widely available. Banking hours are from 10:00 – 16:00 Monday to Friday.
Dress Code
We encourage participants to dress comfortably in business casual attire as temperatures in meeting rooms will vary, we suggest you bring a sweater or light jacket to the sessions. Business Casual dress for all evening dinners.
Electricity
For Brazil there are two associated plug types, types C and N. Plug type C is the plug which has two round pins (European type). Plug type N is the plug which has two flat parallel pins and a grounding pin. Brazil operates on a 127/220V supply voltage and 60Hz. The power supply in Brazil is 127V, however some of the newer hotels operate at 220V.
Event Language
The event language is English with simultaneous translation into Portuguese.
Information Desk
There will be an “Cardiology, Diabetes & Nephrology at the Limits Brazil” Information Desk onsite.
Insurance
Please check the validity of your own insurance. The event organisers cannot accept liability for personal injuries, loss or damage to property belonging to event participants (or their accompanying persons), either during or as a result of the event.
Please note, travel insurance is NOT provided for attendees and therefore it is the responsibility of the delegate to ensure all travellers are sufficiently insured to cover for cancellation, medical expenses, loss of baggage etc.
Messages and Faxes
Any messages will be kept at the Hotel Reception Desk or delivered to your room.
Mobile Phones
All Networks have good reception in the hotel, at the University and all surrounding areas.
Presentations Archive
A video archive of all ‘At the Limits’ presentations will be available approximately 6 weeks after the meeting via the event website and shortly afterwards, on The Lancet website.
Time Difference
At the time of the meeting Sao Paulo will be in the BRT – Brasília Time / Brazil Time (Standard Time) time zone.
Passport
Please note that all passengers should travel with a valid passport for entry into the Brazil.
Transfers
Please note airport transfers to and from the hotel on arrival and departure days in Sao Paulo are not included in the event package. Each attendee is responsible for making this arrangement and for paying the charge directly with the supplier involved.
Visa Requirements
Delegates are requested to check with the Brazilian consulate in their home country for visa requirements. It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain a visa if required.
