Claiming Your Credits
Please ensure you sign the attendance register once each day to confirm your attendance and in order to claim CME credits.
The register will be located outside the main plenary room (University of Cape Town) on both Saturday and Sunday.
Subject to your full attendance onsite, the online link to the feedback form will be emailed to you post-event
Please complete the form in full and upon receipt of your completed form, a link will be sent to you enabling you to view, download and print your Attendance Certificate.
The currency in South Africa is South African Rand. It is recommended that you obtain an amount before entering South Africa. Money can be exchanged at banks, bureau de change, some hotels, shops and restaurants. Automated foreign exchange machines and cash dispensers are at various locations.
American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard and Visa are all widely accepted in shops and restaurants. ATMs are also widely available. Banking hours are from 09:30 – 15:00 Monday to Friday with some opening on Saturday mornings.
We encourage participants to dress comfortably in business casual attire as temperatures in meeting rooms will vary, we suggest you bring a sweater or light jacket to the sessions. Business casual dress for all evening dinners.
The voltage in Cape Town is 220/230 volts AC, 50 Hz. 3-pin round plugs.
Please note due to the nature of the funding provided by the event sponsors, we are not able to refund any other expenses incurred. (e.g. car parking, transport to and from regional / international airports and train stations)
The event language is English. No translation will be provided.
There will be a “Cardiology, Diabetes and Nephrology at the Limits 2017” Information Desk onsite outside the plenary room each day during the conference times.
Please check the validity of your own insurance. The event organisers cannot accept liability for personal injuries, loss or damage to property belonging to event participants (or their accompanying persons), either during or as a result of the event.
Messages and Faxes
Any messages or faxes will be kept at the Hotel Reception Desk or delivered to your room.
All Networks have good reception in the hotel, at the University and all surrounding areas.
A video archive of all ‘At the Limits’ presentations will be available approximately 6 weeks after the meeting via the event website and shortly afterwards, on The Lancet website: https://www.thelancet.com/education/at-the-limits
The time in South Africa is GMT + 1 hours during the conference. South Africa does not adhere to daylight saving time, however DST will be active in the countries of many delegates.
Please note that all passengers should travel with a valid passport for entry into South Africa. Please make sure you have at least two blank pages facing each other in your passport and that your passport is valid for 30 days from the date of your return. Please note that if you do not have the two blank pages facing each other in your passport, you may be denied boarding and refused entry to South Africa. Registration Packs for Delegates
Will be available for collection from the ‘At the Limits’ Event Information Desk located in the hotel reception and this will open on Friday 7th April from 09:00 – 17:30. Thereafter collection will be available from the event desk located outside the plenary.
Delegates are requested to check with the South African consulate in their home country for visa requirements. It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain a visa if required.
