Professors Derek Yellon and Lionel Opie have hosted the latest addition to the 'At the Limits' series; and it’s a ground-breaking combination of the two most established events in the calendar. For the first time decision-makers in the areas of Cardiology and Diabetes, from across Europe and beyond gathered at the University of Cape Town for a single, combined meeting.
'Cardiology and Diabetes at the Limits' set new standards in education for these two closely linked disease areas as a world class faculty gathered to present and discuss leading edge developments in their speciality. As with all 'At the Limits' events, attendance was strictly limited to maintain the intimate atmosphere and to engender the fierce discussion and debate which has become the hallmark of these events. Professor Yellon commented "for many years we ran these two events separately, but the cross-over is now more distinct than ever and it has become advantageous to combine the educational aspects of both meetings. I'm very excited that the speakers who addressed the meeting have allowed us to feature their presentations on the At the Limits website, along with the website of our new partner in the series, The Lancet"
