Oncology at the Limits II
Meeting further underlined
the unique philosophy of ATL meetings
The 2011 OATL II event took place at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden from 13th-16th October 2011. It was Chaired by Professor Roger Henriksson, the chairman of the Department of Oncology-Pathology, at the Karolinska; Professor Chris Boshoff of UCLH, London; and Dr. Thomas Lynch, Director of the Yale Cancer Center.
The chairmen appointed a Scientific Committee consisting of specialists from every area of Oncology and collectively they drew together a faculty of outstanding speakers, with the presentations being moderated by clinicians who translated the science of the researcher to everyday clinical practice.
This exciting move to Europe has opened a new chapter in the development of the 'At the Limits' series which has traditionally been held at the University of Cape Town. The European audience is now be just hours from the event, enabling them to experience the ground-breaking lectures, and then to return to their clinics immediately following the meeting. However, the link to Africa remains strong with a delegation of African Oncologists being sponsored to attend the event.
As with all events in the 'At the Limits' series, 'Oncology at the Limits II' has been filmed and the full multimedia of the presentations will be available on the 'At the Limits' website shortly. We are also delighted to have the continued endorsement of the meeting and its contents by The Lancet medical journal; and the multimedia from all of the 'At the Limits' presentations can be accessed on their website free of charge.
